Active for a healthier life: Romagna embraces the “Chi si muove, si ama!” campaign

In the Wellness Valley setting, the first district in terms of competences on wellness and quality of life, an innovative campaign to promote physical activity and exercise kicks off. The campaign was realised by the Wellness Foundation in collaboration with the Ordini dei Medici and the Ordini dei Farmacisti of the provinces of Forlì-Cesena, Ravenna and Rimini, and Agifar, and with the support of AUSL Romagna and the Emilia-Romagna Region.

The campaign is fully in line with the activities of the Regional Prevention Plan 2021-2025 and represents a choral effort to encourage people, especially those who are less active, to take more exercise to improve their quality of life and prevent the onset of chronic diseases.
It is a unique alliance with general practitioners at the core: general practitioners will raise awareness among their patients between 40 and 60 years of age, illustrating the benefits of physical activity and exercise, distributing information material and presenting the most suitable opportunities for the individual: a free ‘wellness checkup’ in participating pharmacies, which can be repeated after three and six months; enrolment in a health gym or sports centre, membership of walking groups…

Therefore, the doctor will enrol people in a pathway to wellness, which can count on a wide network of health professionals.

A network that has grown over time in Romagna thanks to its ongoing commitment to prevention and that for this campaign involves – in addition to doctors – local pharmacies, health gyms and walking groups (“Mappa della Salute”), as well as other gyms, swimming pools and sports centres.

This initiative brings the world of wellness and the world of health even closer together for the benefit of the community. The goal? To fight sedentariness: every adult should do 30 minutes of physical activity per day, in order to reach the 150′ per week recommended by the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation.
