Flying Children
Flying Children is an educational itinerary that focuses on the wellbeing of the younger generations and on sport as a means of promoting health.
The project stems from a real need to create sports environments that encourage synergic and integrated work between the various professional figures involved – teachers, coaches, athletic trainers, doctors, psychologists and nutritionists. The aim of Flying Children is to counteract the dropping out of sporting activity, prevent chronic pathologies and situations of adolescent discomfort, and raise awareness among parents and sports clubs of the value of a balanced lifestyle from childhood onwards.
Flying Children introduces children from 5 to 14 years old to sports through activities aimed at developing basic motor skills, education on healthy eating and shared play. Activities include training of teaching and sports personnel, data collection on children’s lifestyles with anthropometric and initial motor assessments, and the dissemination of a sports culture that promotes health and well-being.
Flying Children has obtained the patronage of the AIAC – Italian Football Coaches Association and is active in several football clubs in the Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany regions.

From the experience gained in this field, the pilot project ‘Safety in sport as promotion of wellbeing’ started in 2024 at the Oriani Institute in Faenza. An educational path dedicated to the school environment, with theoretical-practical training courses to make teachers aware of safety in sport, linking it to wellbeing and health promotion. The main objective is to raise awareness on issues such as choosing sports activities appropriate to age and constitution, proper nutrition, safety in sports facilities and the prevention of doping, helping to reduce sedentariness and improve the psychophysical well-being of young adolescents.
‘Safety in sport as promotion of wellbeing’ is supported by the Faenza Panathlon Club, the Municipality of Faenza and the FMSI of the Province of Ravenna.
