Wellness Lab kicks off in Cortina!

13 October 2025

La Cooperativa di Cortina, the Municipality of Cortina, Cortina Banca, and the Wellness Foundation join forces to promote a culture of wellness

Yesterday marked the launch of Wellness Lab, a new initiative designed for the people of La Cooperativa di Cortina, the Municipality of Cortina, and Cortina Banca, developed in collaboration with the Wellness Foundation.

Created with the awareness that workplaces play a vital role in promoting healthy lifestyles, the programme combines in-person and online educational sessions with physical activity and exercise workshops.

The first session featured Federica Alberti, Benedetta Andreoli, and Francesco Zanatta from the Wellness Foundation, who explored two key topics: “The Role of Physical Activity and Exercise in Health and Wellbeing” and “Changing Lifestyle: Motivation and Strategies for Lasting Wellness.”

Upcoming sessions will delve into other essential aspects of wellness, with contributions from leading experts in the scientific community:

“Exercise is Medicine: The Role of Exercise in the Prevention and Treatment of Chronic Diseases,” with Silvano Zanuso, Scientific Director at Wellness Foundation and Technogym
“Nutrition and Supplementation for Healthy Longevity,” with Elena Casiraghi, science communicator, member of the Equipe Enervit, and lecturer at the University of Pavia
“Sleep: A Powerful Ally for Health,” with Francesco Fanfulla, Head of Sleep Medicine at IRCCS Maugeri Pavia

Workplaces have a unique opportunity to become true agents of change, fostering health and wellbeing among employees and within their wider communities — with tangible benefits both individually and organizationally.

It is no coincidence that one of the pillars of the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games legacy, as well as a key priority of the International Olympic Committee, is Move More – Workspace: encouraging more movement within the workplace.

The project aims to promote the adoption of healthy lifestyle habits by offering both knowledge and hands-on experiences. Participants will also have the opportunity to take a Technogym Checkup assessment to discover their personal “wellness age” and develop a tailored plan for improvement.

“The two historic cooperatives of Cortina, active for over a century, continue to stand as pillars of the community and drivers of innovation. The central role of people takes on new meaning — including in how we relate to our staff. After launching a corporate wellbeing journey in 2023 and achieving gender equality certification in 2024, this year we are taking another step forward, once again guided by our defining value: building strong relationships and partnerships within our local community”

Emanuela de Zanna, Director of La Cooperativa di Cortina, also expressed her satisfaction with the initiative, highlighting how it brings together the two historic cooperative institutions of Cortina d’Ampezzo.

“We are firmly convinced that the wellbeing of people in the workplace is essential — not just a goal, but a strategic priority for the future of our businesses. Alongside promoting collective health, it also enhances productivity, motivation, and overall quality of life”

Wellness Lab is part of the broader Cortina in Wellness initiative, a visionary project conceived by Nerio Alessandri with the aim of contributing to the cultural legacy of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games. The initiative pursues a dual purpose: promoting healthy lifestyles as a social opportunity for residents and positioning Cortina as a true Wellness Destination, recognized internationally by combining the region’s heritage with a new culture of wellbeing and world-class services.

Among the initiatives launched so far for the Cortina community are: a programme for local school students to raise awareness of the value of movement for wellbeing, featuring fun, play-based training sessions in collaboration with Fondazione Cortina; educational sessions on health and prevention — starting with sleep — with the University for Adults and Seniors of Belluno; and the radio segment “Pillole di Wellness” on Radio Cortina, featuring interviews with experts in physical activity, nutrition, and mental wellbeing.

Wellness Lab is born from the collaboration between La Cooperativa di Cortina, the Municipality of Cortina, Cortina Banca, and the Wellness Foundation, with valuable contributions from Energym Cortina, Equipe Enervit, IRCCS Maugeri, and Technogym.
