Diabetes Marathon 2026: sport, community, and prevention at the heart of its 13th edition
23 April 2026
On April 19, 2026, the city of Forlì hosted the 13th edition of the Diabetes Marathon 2026, once again confirming its role as a national benchmark for health promotion and prevention initiatives.
With more than 3,500 participants from across Italy, the event transformed the city center into a vibrant space of sharing, movement, and solidarity, bringing together athletes, families, volunteers, and institutions around a shared goal: raising awareness about a condition that affects millions of people in Italy.
Organised by Diabetes Marathon ASD in collaboration with Diabete Romagna, the event is far more than a running race. It is an ongoing project that promotes healthy lifestyles, provides tangible support to people living with diabetes, and strengthens the connection between communities and their territory.
In this context, the involvement of Wellness Foundation and the Wellness Valley project carries particular significance. For years, the Romagna region has stood out as a living laboratory of social innovation, where physical activity, prevention, and wellbeing are key drivers in improving quality of life.
During the 2026 Diabetes Marathon, DiaBeat was officially launched: a diabetes prevention campaign and functional assessment initiative powered by Technogym Checkup. The campaign places physical activity at the core of diabetes prevention and management, fully aligned with the mission of the Wellness Foundation: to make wellbeing an accessible, everyday, and shared lifestyle.
The strength of the event lies in its ability to combine sport and social impact: from competitive races to inclusive walks open to all, as well as awareness activities and fundraising efforts supporting healthcare services, professionals, and educational programs for both adults and children.
The 13th edition of the Diabetes Marathon once again delivered a clear message: building a healthier society is only possible through collaboration between institutions, organizations, companies, and citizens. A collective commitment that, step by step, continues to generate lasting value for both the territory and the people who live in it.
