Cortina in Wellness: physical activity and precision exercise for a new culture of wellbeing

From 27 to 29 August, the Queen of the Dolomites once again became the capital of wellness, with more than 100 free sessions dedicated to wellbeing, physical exercise and healthy lifestyles. The fourth edition of Cortina in Wellness, the event promoted by Nerio Alessandri’s Wellness Foundation with the aim of establishing Cortina as an international destination for wellness and quality of life, offered residents and visitors an extensive programme of activities. Within just a few hours of registrations opening on the Technogym App, many classes were fully booked, with long waiting lists.

Three defining features set the event apart, bringing wellness and the local area together in a powerful way: collaboration with 40 local partners, who enriched the programme with exclusive experiences; Technogym’s expertise and technology, supporting functional assessments and Precision Exercise sessions; and a rich educational programme featuring talks, workshops and opportunities for dialogue with local stakeholders. Physical activity, Wellness Journeys and Mountain Experiences with local partners: from early-morning Power Walks and Bike Tours exploring the Dolomites, to walks with Cortina’s Alpine Guides—including a spectacular hike beneath the stars—from Alpine rituals and treatments designed to support physical, mental and inner balance, to a wide range of Yoga and Pilates practices, Tabata—including sessions for children alongside Corty, the event mascot!—and Aquagym.

Precision Exercise with Technogym, Official Training Partner of Cortina in Wellness. As tradition dictates, the functional assessments carried out using Technogym Checkup proved hugely popular. Available at Rosapetra Spa Resort, Grand Hotel Savoia and Casa Guargnè, they provided the ideal starting point for designing a structured, personalised exercise programme under the guidance of Technogym Master Trainers. Power Strength, Functional Training and Precision Exercise sessions were also held throughout the event at the wellness centres of Rosapetra Spa Resort, Faloria Mountain Resort, Grand Hotel Savoia, Casa Guargnè and Grand Hotel Ampezzo, all equipped with cutting-edge technologies including Biostrength, featuring scientifically developed training programmes supported by Artificial Intelligence.

There was also a packed programme of outdoor exercise sessions in Piazza Roma—alongside the high-energy Group Cycling classes—and in other stunning locations overlooking the magnificent Tofane peaks.

More than movement: scientific knowledge, mindfulness and positive relationships for truly holistic wellbeing: from the Wellness Talks hosted by Official Medical Partner Ospedale Cortina, a facility managed by GVM Care & Research, to Cortina Mindfulness sessions organised in collaboration with the Cortina Hotel Association, and workshops led by local professionals, more than ten events were dedicated to the mind, awareness and prevention.

Two further events brought together partners, stakeholders and friends of the project, strengthening the alliance that has been at the heart of Cortina in Wellness since 2024: the opening event at Grand Hotel Ampezzo and the closing talk at The Roof, where leading voices from the local area came together to discuss Cortina’s future as a Wellness Destination. There was unanimous recognition of the opportunities that wellness can offer for the development of the area, fully in line with Nerio Alessandri’s vision: «Wellness can represent an extraordinary driver of social and economic development for the local area: on the one hand, by attracting tourists, residents and visitors throughout the year, and on the other, by promoting a culture of health and prevention.»
