Wellness Foundation at the HEPA Europe 2024 Congress in Dublin
28 August 2024
From 19-21 August 2024, the Wellness Foundation participated in the 19th annual congress and 15th conference of HEPA Europe, organised by the RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences in Dublin, in cooperation with WHO/Europe. The central theme of this year’s conference was the implementation of physical activity for health, with a special focus on inclusion.
Our participation was marked by the presentation of the “Chi si muove si ama” campaign, an example of a multi-stakeholder campaign aimed at promoting an active lifestyle and the practice of physical activity in Romagna. This initiative aroused considerable interest among the participants, representing a model of how it is possible to involve different actors on the territory to promote the well-being of the population.
During the three-day event, we had the opportunity to exchange views with scientists, policymakers and practitioners from all over Europe, sharing and exploring the latest research and interventions in the field of promoting physical activity. Keynote speeches, such as those by Dr. Jane Thornton and Prof. Chris Gidlow, enriched the conference with crucial topics such as physical activity in the prevention of chronic diseases and inclusion in communities.
Among the most interesting points that emerged from the conference was the need to strengthen collaboration between academia and institutions to develop more effective and sustainable interventions. With this in mind, participation in HEPA Europe 2024 offered new perspectives and valuable contacts to further develop our activities to promote an active and healthy lifestyle.
