Opened the first intervention of the Milano Wellness City Project, launched by Nerio Alessandri's Wellness Foundation, with the installation of an outdoor training solution at the Indro Montanelli Gardens

As part of the Milano Wellness City 2030 project — a social initiative promoted by the Wellness Foundation to foster a new culture of well-being in Milan — Technogym has installed its first Technogym Outdoor island in the Indro Montanelli Gardens, near Porta Venezia.

This innovative outdoor workout solution, donated by Technogym in collaboration with the City of Milan, is now open to the public, offering a unique opportunity to enhance the community’s health and wellness. Designed specifically for public spaces, this concept provides a safe and accessible environment for people of all ages and fitness levels to exercise. Each island is designed to make the most of the available space, offering multiple workout options. A QR code allows users to access a digital library of exercises and training programs tailored to different fitness profiles and goals. Additionally, through the Technogym App, users can follow personalized workout plans powered by artificial intelligence.

The structure has been developed with long-term sustainability in mind, using materials like stainless steel, aluminum, and concrete to ensure durability, ease of repair, recyclability, and high resistance to wear from both heavy use and weather exposure.

The opening ceremony was attended by Giovanni Malagò, President of the Milano Cortina Foundation; Elena Grandi, Head of Environment and Green Spaces for the City of Milan; Lamberto Bertolé, Head of Welfare and Health for the City of Milan and President of the WHO Italian Healthy Cities Network; Mattia Abdu Ismahil, President of District 1 – Historic Center; Lorenzo Pacini, Head of Green Spaces, Roads, Housing, School Construction, and Youth Policies for District 1; and Nerio Alessandri, President and Founder of Technogym and the Wellness Foundation.

Among the distinguished guests were Jury Chechi, former gymnast and Olympic gold medalist in the rings; Giorgia Villa, silver medalist in gymnastics at Paris 2024; Simone Barlaam, gold medalist at the Paris 2024 Paralympics; tennis legends Francesca Schiavone and Flavia Pennetta; triathlete Daniel Fontana; and football icons Massimo Ambrosini and Marco Materazzi.

"Milan has always been a trendsetter, and today it has the potential to truly become a wellness city, improving the quality of life for its residents while also inspiring the rest of the country. With this vision in mind, the Wellness Foundation launched the Milano Wellness City initiative at a pivotal time for the city, with the Milano Cortina Olympics offering a unique opportunity to promote the value of sport and physical activity for everyone." – Nerio Alessandri

Promoting a true culture of health and well-being, as well as increasing and improving access to our parks and public green spaces, is a commitment that local governments – the closest institutions to the people – must lead,” said Elena Grandi (Environment and Green Spaces) and Lamberto Bertolé (Welfare and Health). “Encouraging the creation and implementation of projects like Milano Wellness City, and integrating them into our public parks while respecting urban green spaces and the environment, means leveraging public-private collaboration in a positive way to create valuable opportunities for Milan’s residents, supporting and enhancing our green areas and the promotion of healthy lifestyles.
