Health & Prevention

Ordine dei Medici della Romagna
Since 2015, Wellness Valley has started a specific training programme for general practitioner trainees on exercise prescription methods for the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases.
A cutting-edge initiative at the national level, born from the close collaboration between the Wellness Foundation, the Emilia-Romagna Region, Ausl Romagna and the Order of Physicians of the Provinces of Rimini, Forlì-Cesena and Ravenna, and the support of Technogym, a founding partner of the global initiative Exercise is Medicine®.
The course takes place at the Technogym Village half in the classroom, with theoretical lectures, and half in the gymnasium, with motor activity sessions. The aim is to provide young doctors with the tools to carry out appropriate “counselling” for their patients, informing them about the impact of motor activity for prevention and the exercise therapy protocols that can be prescribed for the treatment of the main chronic pathologies.

Thanks to this initiative, more than 500 general practitioners have been trained over the years, and the prescription of exercise is increasingly used in the therapeutic approach and in the fight against pathologies such as diabetes, hypertension, Alzheimer’s, cardiovascular and skeletal diseases.
