Nuova Virtus Cesena Nordic Walking
For over 14 years, Nordic Walking in Cesena has been a benchmark for well-being, inclusion, and the promotion of an active lifestyle. The project was created with the aim of spreading awareness and encouraging the practice of Nordic Walking through an extensive outreach program led by qualified sports instructors from the Italian Nordic Walking School.
This discipline, practiced outdoors and accessible to everyone, requires only the use of specific poles and is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. Over the years, it has involved more than 2,000 participants through beginner courses and ongoing activities, and today it has around 150 active members.
The activity, promoted by ASD Nuova Virtus Cesena Nordic Walking, also stands out for its strong social and inclusive dimension: in addition to weekly training sessions and monthly beginner courses, dedicated programs for people with Parkinson’s disease and neurodegenerative conditions are currently being developed, thanks to specialized training recently acquired.
In previous years, projects were also carried out for oncology patients, in collaboration with a local pharmacy and LILT (Italian League for the Fight Against Cancer), confirming a commitment to movement as a supportive tool in health and recovery pathways.
The project also collaborates with schools, associations, and local organizations, including A.D.A. (Association for the Rights of the Elderly) and UIL, contributing to the promotion of a culture of physical activity among both young people and adults.
An experience that combines fitness, exploration of the local area, health, prevention, and inclusion—values that make this initiative a true excellence within the Wellness Valley.
